Congress has passed legislation aimed at giving terminally ill patients a way to obtain experimental drugs not yet fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The House earlier this week voted 250-169 in favor of the bill, a measure passed by the Senate last August. The bill now heads to President Trump, who is expected to sign it. "This is an extraordinarily great day," said Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-IN), one of the original cosponsors of the bill.
